Dear Benton Harbor Charter School Academy community,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Benton Harbor Charter School Academy! School starts on August 28, 2023. It is my favorite time of year and I can’t wait for students and staff to return to campus!
As we launch into this new school year, we wanted to share our excitement for this upcoming school year and reassure you that Benton Harbor Charter School Academy is committed to providing a stable and enriching educational experience for your child. Our focus this year will be on three main things: high-quality education, safety, and open communication.
High-Quality Education:
At Benton Harbor Charter School Academy, we believe in providing all students a high quality education that lays the foundation for college. We’ve been preparing all summer for students to return. Our dedicated team of teachers and staff are so excited to return and ensure the educational and instruction needs of each student. We are focusing on student growth and academic success for all students! This year we are excited to add additional educational opportunities to our students that will include close reading and math story problems. Students will deepen their conceptual understanding of math operations and become stronger and more thoughtful readers.
Safety:
As always, the safety and well-being of our students is extremely important to us. We’ve reviewed our comprehensive safety plans, and have worked closely with numerous outside organizations to ensure that we have systems in place to keep each child safe. Our teachers and staff are trained to respond effectively to any emergency situations, and we regularly conduct drills to prepare for various scenarios. Rest assured that we are taking every precaution to keep our school community safe and secure.
Open Communication:
We strongly believe that open and transparent communication between the school and families is vital for the success of our students. Throughout the year, we will inform you about important events, academic progress, and any other updates related to the school. You can expect weekly newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and various school events where you can actively engage with teachers and staff. We also encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. Together, as a united community, we can create a nurturing and supportive environment for our students to thrive.
We are confident that this year will be filled with growth, success, and memorable moments. As a reminder, school starts at 8:00am for elementary students and 8:45am for middle school students.
