PACE Donates Backpacks to BHCSA for Upcoming School Year

PACE of Southwest Michigan provided over 30 backpacks and school supplies this weekend to our family at Benton Harbor Charter School Academy.

The Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is designed for elders who struggle with underlying health issues, and provide an alternative to nursing homes. The Pride and Joy Committee at PACE asked for donations, and the response was greater than expected with over 30 backpacks and many supplies offered.

PACE of Southwest Michigan released the following statement:

Parents, teachers and students alike have all been excited to start the 2021/22 school year. The past year has been a challenging one financially for many families. Some families struggle trying to pay for backpacks and school supplies for their children. PACE of Southwest Michigan was very fortunate to have the opportunity to help the students who attend the Benton Harbor Charter School by providing over 35 backpacks and school supplies to students.

They were received by Chris Russell at BCHSA and are planned to be distributed on the first day of school. Those at PACE hope that the backpacks and supplies will make that first day of school a little bit better to those that receive them.
