Here at BHCSA, leadership isn’t just something that is taught, it’s something we live every day. Leadership is demonstrated and encouraged through a strong foundation of character, development, academic excellence, and mutual support. Our culture empowers every student and staff member to discover and grow the leader within themselves.
Leader in Me was founded to encourage students PK-12 that everyone has the potential to lead. It gives students the feel for leadership, fosters and culture of trust, and can help in boosting their academics as well. Curated by FranklinCovey known for their teachings of leadership around the world, we are happy to have it implemented here at BHCSA to encourage our students that they too can be exceptional leaders.
We are always thrilled to share the bright spotlight of each week’s Leader in Me award recipients in the building and on our Facebook page!
Each week we pick two students per category within our program to congratulate them on their commitment, positive attitude, and drive in setting a fantastic example for their peers. We have preparatory community leaders, gateway community leaders, and foundation community leaders. Every week students are encouraged to demonstrate excellence through friendship, leadership, and positive contributions to the school and community.
Additionally, we enjoy celebrating with a staff member each week as well! The Staff Leader in Me each week is chosen and thanked for their tireless dedication, passion, and continuous support to each of scholars and school families. They truly embody what it means to lead by example for everyone.
Why does this matter?
At BHCSA, we believe that fostering leadership skills and a commitment to personal growth early on helps scholars with the confidence, resilience, and integrity they need to thrive inside and outside of the classroom. Instilling these habits daily, we have an opportunity to cultivate a vibrant student culture centered on striving for excellence, personal responsibility, and empathy.
