Today we celebrate our principal, Tim Harris, and our assistant principal, Ashley Smith. We are grateful for their leadership and commitment to making Benton Harbor Charter School Academy a safe, tight-knit community.
Mr. Tim Harris is in his nineteenth year as an educator. He is celebrating his thirteenth year at BHCSA. He obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Michigan University and is a proud Bronco! Being an educator allows him to empower teachers to be the best that they can be. It also allows him to be a role model and have a positive impact on a student’s success. BHCSA is Mr. Harris’ second home and he cannot imagine life without it. In his free time, Mr. Harris loves to fish, hunt and watch western movies.
Mrs. Ashley Smith is entering her fourth year as the assistant principal at BHCSA. Mrs. Smith is a proud graduate of Western Michigan University (bachelor’s) and Teachers College at Columbia University (master’s). Her ability to support and encourage the BHCSA staff is authentic and real. She is excited to see staff members step up into community leadership roles and knows that ultimately students will benefit from their cohesiveness and leadership. We are thankful for her commitment to BHCSA’s tight-knit community and belief in its success. In her free time, Mrs. Smith can be found with family, kids, cooking and trying new restaurants.
