English Language Arts

Local reading data is collected three times a year, focusing on Spring Data of kindergarten through eighth grade students.  Kindergarten through eighth grade students are assessed using Northwest Evaluation Association’s (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP).

Math

Local math data is collected three times a year, focusing on Spring Data of kindergarten through eighth grade students.  Kindergarten through eighth grade students are assessed using Measures of Academic Progress (MAP).  Professional Learning Communities provide staff time to review student assessment results and adjust their instruction to meet the needs of students.

Science

The school has been using the Battle Creek Science kits for the last two years and has seen significant gains in science grades.  Staff in grades 1-8 can identify students needing additional assistance in science based on report card data.

Social Studies

The Academy recently purchased the McGraw Hill Social Studies Program, and has seen significant gains in social studies grades.  Staff in grades 1-8 can identify students needing additional assistance in social studies based on report card data.

Testing

(MAP) Measures of Academic Progress: Creates a personalized testing experience by adapting to each student’s learning level-precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual.  The data generated from the student assessment will help teachers focus on specific areas of content and decide whether to intervene or provide enrichment resources for those higher level students.
